Whimsical and Playful

I decided to try something whimsical and playful for my Etsy shop. So I'm working with sequins for iridescent, light-weight necklaces for girls, teens, and adults. Shown here are I'm A Star, I'm A Heart Throb, and Light Me Up With Sequins. Seems like just the thing for spring and summer fashions.

Right Down the Road

We attended the International Carriage Driving Festival yesterday which is held right down the road from where we live. Carriage drivers come from all over the world, bringing their horses and carriages with them in order to compete.
The drivers' jackets and the horses' braid ribbons are usually color coordinated in some way and it is a very exciting event. There are single and double pony events as well as the Four in Hand, four horses attached to one carriage.
We saw many beautiful dogs both in the agility trials and just walking around being curious. It was a splendid day with temperatures in the 70's accompanied by a cool breeze. We will definitely do this again.

Inspiration To Twitter

Inspired by my collage, "Sisterhood Is Global", my friend Elizabeth at Elizabeth Rosas Jewelry, created a site on Twitter so that women could share stories from other women around the world.

Please visit her site at www.twitter.com/worldsisterhood.
We must continue to tell our stories; for it is through our stories that our struggles become real to each other and to the world.

Family Pride

Today, I am showcasing the art of woodturning artist, Rudolph Lopez, who also happens to be my cousin. Rudy is a gifted photographer and artist in wood. Yesterday, he participated in his first art show, the Tampa Gasparilla Art Festival and was selected Best in Show in the Emerging Artist category. It was very emotional for me because I have watched Rudy truly emerge as an artist from the time of his youth through his drawing, cabinet making, photography, and now, woodturning. In addition to the art show honors, he was featured this month in American Woodturning Magazine. Rudy's website is a work of art in itself. You may access it here at http://rudolphlopez.com.

Sisterhood Is Global

Rich or poor... young or old... educated or not...we all share the same struggles. We gather together for strength and commonality. We understand each other because we ARE each other. Woman to woman; mother to daughter; sister to sister. Sisterhood Is Global.
